About Us
Launched in 2024, the Community and Provider Input for Learning, Outreach, and Transformation (Co-Pilot) initiative aims to raise awareness, cultivate trust, and increase community participation in all stages of research, including how research is designed, conducted, and put into action. Co-Pilot is housed in the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute under the Community, Population Health and Outcomes pillar. Collaboration with and buy-in from the communities we serve is essential to conducting relevant and ethical research from a lens of equity and justice.
Through the 5 strategic priorities, Co-Pilot will implement community engagement activities guided by the following tenets:
Enhance awareness and accessibility with sustained openness and learning
Improve recruitment rates and retention of research participants with inclusiveness
Increase competitiveness for federal and non-federal funding
Promote trust through transparency and ethical conduct of research
Advance restorative justice and health equity through participant centeredness
While the Co-Pilot initiative is still under progress, read the Co-Pilot Executive Summary more information about the program.
