As the number of domestic violence deaths continues to rise, experts seek opportunities for how to interrupt cycles of harm and keep survivors and families safe. The report, Reaching People Who Cause Harm: Policies, Funding, and Strategies in Cook County, calls for expanding partner abuse intervention programs and creating non-stigmatizing resources for partners who cause harm to help break the cycle of domestic violence in Illinois. The report is the result of decades of work driven by the Michael Reese Health Trust and supported by the VNA Foundation. The research team was led by Callie Kaplan, MPH, Senior Research Scientist at Smith Child Health Catalyst, housed within Stanley Manne Children's Research Institute. Team members include Leonardo Barrera, MPH, Leopoldo Castillo, MA, Linda Martinez, MPH, and Connor Karwowski.
