Ordering Laboratory Supplies
- Laboratory supplies are ordered via Workday Requisition. For instructions on completing a Workday Requisition and delivery information see the Research Education Learning Module: Understanding Purchasing and Receiving within Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Center.

Dry Ice and Shipping
Dry ice is available through Procurement and Payment Services at Northwestern University. There is a cost associated with procuring dry ice, and a Northwestern University chart string is required to complete a purchase.
- Safe Shipping of Biological Materials and Dry Ice Training (formerly known as IATA Training) is required before procuring dry ice for shipping or laboratory use. Refer to our tip sheet on signing up for courses through Northwestern University.

Lab Gases
Laboratory gases, liquid nitrogen, and gas tank regulators and valves are available through Procurement and Payment Services at Northwestern University. There is a cost associated with procuring lab gases, and a Northwestern University chart string is required to complete a purchase.

It is required that faculty, staff, postdocs, research associates, students, and visitors working in laboratories or laboratory support facilities using compressed or liquefied gases get appropriated training. Visit myHR Learn to complete your safety training.
- Compressed Gas Safety Training is required for all faculty, staff, postdocs, research associates, students, and visitors working in laboratories or laboratory support facilities using compressed or liquefied.
- Training includes:
- Compressed gas cylinders certification
- Filling and maintenance of liquid nitrogen tanks certification
Fisher Stockroom in Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Center
The Fisher Stockroom, located on the mezzanine level of Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Center, is where researchers can purchase supplies.
- Location: Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Center, mezzanine level, Room 1M-212
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The stockroom is closed for lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m.
