Pediatric cardiologist Joshua Robinson, MD, is expanding the use of non-invasive cardiac imaging in patients with congenital and pediatric acquired heart disease to gain insights into mechanisms of disease progression, reduce the need for costly invasive procedures, and improve patient outcomes. His clinical practice and advocacy efforts focus on complex congenital heart disease, pediatric aortic valve disease and aortopathy, and improving the transition from pediatric to adult-centered healthcare. His research in assessment of congenital heart disease by functional 4D magnetic resonance imaging and other accelerated magnetic resonance techniques is currently funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association. Dr. Robinson is the Section Head of Cardiac Imaging and the Medical Director of the Bicuspid Aortic Valve Program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and serves on the Advisory Editorial Board for the journal Pediatric Cardiology.
