Dr. Lindsay Schwartz is a pediatric oncologist and physician scientist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. She received her medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2015. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2018, and returned to Chicago to complete her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training at the University of Chicago in 2022. During her fellowship, she obtained a Master of Science in Public Health Sciences, also from the University of Chicago. She joined the Division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Lurie Children's in 2025.
Dr. Schwartz’s clinical interests include caring for children, teenagers, and young adults with leukemia, lymphoma, lymphoproliferative disorders, and histiocytic neoplasms. She also treats long-term survivors of all childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancers.
Dr. Schwartz’s research investigates the impact of health behaviors and psychosocial factors on long-term health outcomes of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors. She also evaluates clinical outcomes of young patients with rare types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, who are often ineligible for clinical trials. Lastly, she studies long-term fertility issues that young patients receiving gonadotoxic therapies may face as cancer survivors. She is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Outcomes/Survivorship committees, serving on the Children’s Oncology Group Long-Term Follow Up Guidelines Taskforce. Her research has received grants from the National Cancer Institute and United States Department of Defense. Dr. Schwartz is the prior recipient of the 2021 International Society of Pediatric Oncology Young Investigator Award and the 2024 American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Young Investigator Award.

Research Highlights
CTQ-AYA: COURAGE TO QUIT® FOR ADOLESCENT & YOUNG ADULT CANCER SURVIVORS
The purpose of this research is to adapt and pilot a remote mobile Health intervention, targeting smoking and vaping behaviors in diverse groups of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors. The intervention will offer easy access to personalized help for survivors to quit smoking or vaping, leading to improved long-term physical and mental health.
THE "UMBRELLA STUDY": REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCES IN RARE PERDIATRIC, ADOLESCENT, AND YOUNG ADULT LYMPHOMA
This multi-institutional North American study, for which Dr. Schwartz is the lead principal investigator, analyzes “real world” health outcomes for childhood, adolescent, and young adult patients with rare types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. These patients are rarely, if ever, eligible for therapeutic clinical trials. This research aims to answer questions on the clinical characteristics, treatment regimens, and outcomes of these patients. Ultimately, this study aims to improve survival rates and clinical outcomes for these rare, often forgotten patients.
