Widely published, she has over 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals focusing not only on clinical outcomes but also socioeconomic factors and policies that influence and impact access and delivery of neurosurgical care. She is also involved in global neurosurgery, with over 10 years of experience in skill- and knowledge transfer for pediatric neurosurgery in the developing world. She has been funded by multiple organizations, examining patterns of care in pediatric epilepsy as well as comparative effectiveness of surgical treatments in pediatric neurosurgery. She works with multiple scientific publications, and is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, the leading scientific journal in the field.
Dr. Lam is a pediatric neurosurgeon and a leading specialist in the areas of pediatric cerebrovascular surgery, epilepsy surgery and craniofacial surgery with a focus on minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. In addition to her clinical experience in complex surgeries, her research focuses on quality, outcomes, and healthcare utilization for children and neurological surgery. Dr. Lam regularly lectures nationally and internationally and is recognized for her work globally.
