The Quantitative Science pillar provides cutting-edge statistical and analytical support and computational techniques to maximize research impact and improve the health outcomes of pediatric patients.
Our diverse team of researchers are influential leaders in investigating pediatric health issues and diseases, and include physicians, scientists, postdocs, coordinators, statisticians, data analysts, trainees, and others who routinely collaborate with medical centers, academic institutions, and community partners across the globe.

Findings from two studies authored by Tara Henderson, MD, MPH, Chair of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, are advancing the understanding of early colorectal cancer and risk factors in childhood cancer survivors.
Clinical trials for pediatric patients are especially complex. Few organizations are capable of handling that complexity. Lurie Children’s is one of them. Our mission and structure are built for this purpose: translating discoveries into care and turning research into real opportunities for children and families. At the heart of that effort is our Clinical Research Unit (CRU) on the 19th floor of Lurie Children’s. Dedicated clinical research units like ours are rare in pediatric medicine. Having this space and the expertise to support it allows Lurie Children’s and Manne Research Institute to bring leading-edge treatments to children who might otherwise not have access to them.
An interdisciplinary team that included researchers from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago has developed a new wearable device that provides clinical-grade, continuous monitoring of breast milk intake.
