Sports Medicine Research Program
The Institute for Sports Medicine, part of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, is nationally recognized for its research on sports injury prevention and treatment. The multidisciplinary team of physician-scientists are engaged in studies that are providing insights into the short-term and long-term cognitive and emotional effects of concussions, guiding the treatment and care of children and adolescents with sports-related injuries, investigating injuries to the spine and lower extremities, and evaluating ways to prevent knee injuries.
